Today I opened to the book of Romans, Paul's letter to the Roman disciples and followers.

It is very convoluted in it's textual style.  He seems to reiterate the same thing over and over on the pages I read today..

The topic basically was telling us about sin.  How before Jesus, we were bound by the law to sin.  The Commandments made sin, well sin.  To go against the commandments was sin.  Sin ruled our bodies, always with us, even after we stopped doing it and followed the laws.
Then a wonderful thing happened.  GOD, our awesome and glorious daddy, decided to correct the problem of us being burdened with sin.  He gave us an out!  He came to us in bodily form, via His human son combined with the Christ Spirit, Jesus the Christ, to defeat death, for sin was death, and therefore defeat sin and free us of it's continual burden.  In that action of death on the cross, descent to the darkness, resurrection and ascension to the Heavens, GOD wiped the slate clean.  At that instant, we all were free of sin.
Being human and with the devil still in the game, we of course took upon ourselves the burden of sin again, duh duh duh to us!  However, we were left with one awesome gift. One weapon or tool to free us of sin again and again and forever after our life ends here.  Confess our sins to the Lord, He in turn forgives us, before we even confess it, and we again are free of sin.  Then each time we have the opportunity to remain free and sin no more, which Jesus told all who He healed.  Follow Him on the True path, True way and live eternally free of sin.  If we do not, we still have the opportunity to keep confessing, being forgiven and cleansed of sin.  The devil does not want this. He wants you to give up and just surrender to sin.  Flesh and things of the flesh are sin.  By flesh, it is not talking carnal sexual stuff but refers to the flesh of the human body, our humanness.  It includes all things human.
Spirit is of GOD and free of sin.  These two aspects make up who we are.  You have to choose which one to follow.  Your bodily path or the True path of Spirit.

Live first and foremost in My Presence.  Gradually you will become more aware of Me than of people and places around you.  This awareness will not detract from your relationships with others.  Instead, it will increase your ability to give love and encouragement to them.  My Peace will permeate your words and demeanor.  You will be active in the world, yet one step removed from it.  You will not be easily shaken, because My enveloping Presence buffers the blow of problems.
This is the path I have set before you.  As you follow it wholeheartedly, you experience abundant life and peace.
