Good Sunday morning to all, hope it is as lovely where you are as it is here this morning!
I encourage all to keep reading the different Psalms, 91, 84, 23 each day out loud. Also to read various ones of praise, 111 thru 119, and 148-150. This will be a good start towards making it a habit, also to reiterate an earlier posting, to note five things of beauty each day, til it is habitual. This will over time help you to notice the beauty everywhere and improve your spiritual and emotional balance.
Opened to Acts this morning, not a book that I am led to open to often, but was the one for today. On the pages, it tells of Peter telling certain persons to sell pieces of land and to give proceeds to the poor. Well one person does so and another and his wife hold back some of the money. Peter knew this as the Holy Spirit was with him. He confronted the husband, then the wife and in turn the Spirit took them then and there. Now whether or not this actually happened or the writer of Acts was making a point, the point was and is valid and true. When you tithe in spirit, hold back nothing for yourselves, or if you tithe from your heart to the poor, hold back nothing. For the Lord sees, hears, knows all in His glorious creation, nothing is hidden.
Later on the pages is the tale of Stephen, who having been among those chosen by the Apostles to spread the Word of Jesus, was performing miracles and healings and spreading the Word. Then those in power took him before the council and tried him telling of his preachings and miracles, and of what in truth he was doing. .....This man never ceases to speak words against this holy place and the law; for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place, and will change the customs which Moses delivered to us. And gazing at him, all who sat in the council saw that his face was like the face of an angel. ......Acts 6:13-15
He tells of one reason Jesus came here to renew and update the contract between GOD and man. To enhance the Ten Commandments, to amend them. Just as our laws are amended and updated over time, so GOD did for us.
Then in Acts 7 it reminds us that GOD is all around us not just in buildings.......Yet the Most High does not dwell in houses made with hands; as the Prophet says, "Heaven is my throne and earth is my footstool. What house will you build for Me, says the Lord, or what is the place of my rest? Did not my hand make all these things? You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit"....Acts 7:48-51
Two things in there: GOD is everywhere and tells us plainly what circumcision is. Not removing foreskin of a man, but removing the walls around the heart and unstopping the ears and clearing the eyes. Circumcised in the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of GOD's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to GOD--this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what GOD's will is---His good, pleasing and perfect will.....Romans 12:1-2
Telling us again to renew our mind as He renewed His contract with us. If He can renew, who are we to not do the same?
Worship Me by living close to Me. This was My original design for man, into whom I breathed My very breath of Life. This is My desire for you: that you stay near Me as you walk along your life path. Each day is an important part of that journey. That is why walking in the Light of My Presence is essential to keep you from stumbling. By staying close to Me, you present yourself as a living sacrifice. Even the most routine part of your day can be a spiritual act of worship, holy and pleasing to Me.
You can be growing spiritually even when you feel nothing is happening. Some seeds take longer to grow, keep watering them!
GOD Bless!
