No topics directed to talk about today so I will share a spiritual experience I had hiking.  This was one of two experiences I had on the same hike.  The second one I shared on an earlier post, where I strayed off path.  This one happened earlier on that hike.  I was, as before, hiking in Red Rock Canyon park, just west of Las Vegas.  I was up the one spring trail, up as far, I thought at the time, as one could go.  I reached this rock shelter, built oh about 75 yrs ago at least, if I recall correctly.  Originally used by miners I think, then by some outdoor club.  Anyways, as I was standing there beholding the beauty of the small valley I had come up, and the park, then Vegas valley beyond, I felt moved to praise GOD's beauty.  I stood arms outstretched, praising His name, maginicence, beauty, awesomeness, even making up a word, magniglorious lol.
Well as I stood there gazing out from the heights, I noticed a shadow across the valley on the lower mtns.  I looked up and the sky was totally cloudless over southern Nevada, except for one small cloud hovering around the sun.   How peculiar I thought!  Looking back down, after a number of minutes, the shadow started to moved across the lil valley towards me.  I thought lil odd, as the wind usually moved clouds in a north-northeasterly direction and veryyyy rarely in a westerly one.
I felt moved to start rebuking the shadow, proclaiming myself to be a child of the Light, from the Light I came and to the Light I shall return;  I belong to the Lord and you have no claim over me.
Then the most amazing thing happened, the shadow parted and moved around both sides of me, as I remained in sunlight. I looked up then to see the lil cloud moving away, still no other clouds in the sky.


But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me....Psalm 131:2


I continually call you to closeness with Me.  I know the breadth and depth of your need for Me.  I can read the emptiness of your thoughts when they wander away from Me.  I offer rest for your soul, as well as refreshment for your mind and body.  As you increasingly find fulfillment in Me, other pleasures become less important.  Knowing Me intimately is like having a private wellspring of Joy within you.  This spring flows freely from My throne of grace, so your joy is independent of circumstances.
Waiting in My Presence keeps you connected to Me, aware of all that I offer you.  If you feel any deficiency, you need to refocus your attention on Me.  This is how you trust Me in the moments of your life.
