Good Thursday everyone!   Wow hardly anyone viewed blog yesterday, must have pissed folks off.
Remember the words are not mine, but for my perceptions on the scripture passages.  Agree or not is fine.  The rest is the Word of the Lord.

Yesterdays Bible reading was from Luke and today's from Daniel.

Luke tells of the devil tempting Jesus, offering him all the earthly power and treasures.  To which Jesus replies....
You shall worship the Lord your GOD, and Him only shall you serve....Luke 4:8
You shall not tempt the Lord your GOD....Luke 4:12

We can not serve others or other things, to do so makes gods of them, be they other people(family, friends, bosses, people in authority or power) or things(cars, homes, possessions, hobbies, etc)
GOD comes first always.
This is very hard for sure in our lives, and it is something that takes us time to accomplish, but it is the way we must strive for.
Certainly never can we tempt Him or test Him in any way, that is playing with fire lol.

Also in Luke is when Jesus first went to the synagogue as an adult.  He read the scriptures..
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable time of the Lord....Luke 4:18-19
Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing...Luke 4:21

Very powerful and important declaration.  Announcing to the people, hey, here I am the promised messiah.  Here to save all sinners.  Important part was the ending...."in your hearing".
Even today so few do hear it.

Also on the pages it tells of His going about healing others and then to the sea to tell Peter and his men to take the boats out to cast their nets into the sea. This is where they fill their nets full of fish.  In this one miracle, Jesus is showing them that He will make them fishers of men, and that they shall catch many men in their nets, thus saving them.

In Daniel, the pages told of his brothers being cast into the fire and protected by an angel so that the fire did not touch them.  Also, where Daniel interpreted the dream of King Nebuchadnezzar.  These were to show the King, all kings and persons in authority what Jesus said later.  That the power you have you would not have unless it was given you from above.  reminder to all those who are over others, from bosses to rulers et al, that you are allowed to have the power, but it can and will be taken from you in blink of an eye if abused.  Or worse, paid for in the end in not a good way.

Which GOD will bring about in His own time---GOD, the blessed and ONLY Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see.  To Him be honor and might forever. Amen.   1 Timothy 6:15-16

Worship Me only. I am King of kings and Lord of lords, dwelling in unapproachable light.
I am taking care of you!  I am not only committed to caring for you, but I am also absolutely capable of doing so.  Rest in Me, My weary one, for this is a form of worship.
Though self-flagellation has gone out of style, many of My children drive themselves like racehorses.  They whip themselves into action, ignoring how exhausted they are.  They forget that I am sovereign and that My ways are higher than theirs.  Underneath their driven service, they may secretly resent me as a harsh taskmaster.  Their worship of Me is lukewarm, because I am no longer their first love.
My invitation never changes:  Come to Me, all you who are weary, and I will give you rest.  Worship Me by resting peacefully on My Presence.

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved...Romans 10:13

Sarah Young message October 2

Never take for granted My intimate nearness.  Marvel at the wonder of My continual Presence with you.  Even the most ardent human lover cannot be with you always.  Nor can another person know the intimacies of your heart, mind and spirit.  I know everything about you--even to the number of hairs on your head.  You don't need to work at revealing yourself to Me.
Many people spend a lifetime or a small fortune searching for someone who understands them.  Yet I am freely available to all who call upon My name, who open their hearts to receive Me as Savior.  This simple act of faith is the beginning of a lifelong love story.  I, the lover of your soul, understand you perfectly and love you eternally.

GOD Bless!
