December 8, 2014
Good evening to all and hope all have been doing well. I pray you are having a stressfree December thus far.
Today we visit Colossians!
As therefore you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so live in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
See to it that no one makes a prey of you by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the universe, and not according to Christ. For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have come to fullness of life in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. In him you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of flesh in the circumcision of Christ; and you were buried with him in baptism in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of GOD, who raised him from the dead. And you who were dead in trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, GOD made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, having canceled the bond which stood against us with its legal demands; this he set aside, nailing it to the cross. .....Colossians 2:6-14
That is the topic of today that he speaks to us about. Give thanks to the Lord and move away from and remove any and all negative places, actions, and people from your lives. This all pulls you away from the Light and the Lord. This may mean people and things part of your daily lives, family and friends.
Leap of faith!
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of GOD. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hid with Christ in GOD. When Christ, who is our life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of GOD is coming. In these you once walked, when you lived in them. But now put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and foul talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old nature with its practices and have put on the new nature, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator......Colossians 3:1-10
This is an everyday thing for us, as i said before, darkness ceaselessly attacks us to pull us from the Light. Take note when you catch yourself doing one of these things, it is a red flag that you are under attack. Call on the name of the Lord to rebuke and strengthen yourselves. I am no different from you in all this. It is a choice though, give in to it or fight. Keep the negative or send it away.
Put on then, as GOD's Chosen Ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness and patience, forbearing one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you. so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, as you teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to GOD. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to GOD the Father through him....Colossians
3:12-17
The Lord never meant for us to be self-sufficient. He knows our needs and He wants us to turn to Him for our daily bread of sustenance. Our longings and feelings of incompleteness. In seeking our own path, from our own impatience, we seek to bring solace to this incompleteness through lesser gods, i.e. people, things, power. money. Turn to Him for completeness. You are not alone in this, we all do it, me included.
And my GOD will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus...Philippians 4:19
GOD Bless!
